Ernest Hébert (1817-1908),was a well-known painter in the second half of the nineteenth century.

He studied under Ingres at the Academy of France in Rome,

He was commissioned to decorate the Pantheon.

The above painting is only one of many paintings on the theme of the Virgin executed by Hébert
